An avid student, Ashley is a graduate from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology. She also holds a certificate in International Public Health from the Institute of International Medicine. During her time as an undergraduate, Ashley worked as the Director of Public Health for the Flying Samaritans, a student-run organization dedicated to providing free healthcare in Agua Prieta, Mexico. She is currently employed by one of the top corporations, Nordstrom, where her position is that of Wellness Ambassador, a role that allows her to organize on-site preventative care services and activities that promote healthful lifestyle choices, as well as encourage solidarity amongst the company’s employees. Her intent within development practice is to comprehensively research the underlying governance processes that exacerbate the manifestations of poverty.
