Lee Allen

Lee grew up in Orlando, Florida and completed his undergraduate studies at Elon Univesity in North Carolina. During his time there he majored in International Studies with a concentration in non-violent studies while running cross-country and track. He became interested in Development work after service/volunteer trips to Namibia, Angola, Guatemala, and Costa Rica. From there he continued his passion for service by joining the U.S. Peace Corps where he served in Morocco. He spent 31 months in country and worked on a number of development projects, including the completion of a 220 ft. suspension bridge that provided access to a community of 5,000 people, providing access to markets, schools, and to the hospital during the rainy season. He also participated in the development of a comprehensive water well project that brought portable water to a community of 500 people. The residents previously walked 4-6 hours everyday just to retrieve water. Lee is continuing his passion for development work here at the U of A and someday hopes be a leader in corporate social responsibility.
