Dr. Connie Woodhouse awarded 2026 CSG Lifetime Achievement Award
Winner of the 2026 CSG Lifetime Achievement Award: Dr. Connie A. Woodhouse from the University of Arizona!
Over more than three decades, Dr. Woodhouse has pioneered the use of dendroclimatology to reconstruct drought and hydroclimate variability in western North America. Her research is both foundational and highly societally relevant, as it provides important long-term perspectives for water resource planning and climate risk assessment. Dr. Woodhouse has published nearly 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals, and won over $18 million to fund this work, in addition to training numerous students, who
now continue her integrative approach to paleoclimate, hydroclimatology, and applied climatology. Today, Dr. Woodhouse serves as Regents Professor Emerita in the School of Geography, Development and Environment at the University of Arizona.
Congratulations to Dr. Connie Woodhouse on joining this prestigious list of geographer-climatologists to have earned the CSG Lifetime Achievement Award!
Join us at the annual CSG Business Meeting (at the AAG Annual Meeting) in San Francisco in March, where we will commemorate Dr. Woodhouse's distinguished career with a plaque that celebrates this achievement.
