Research Areas
I am a Ph.D. student in the School of Geography, Development and Environment, and Fulbright Garcia-Robles Scholar awarded by the US-Mexico Commission for Education and Cultural Exchange. My focus lies at the intersection of social relations at the local, national, and global scales and water governance. These interests stem from a degree in International Relations from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and a Master of Science in Water Security and International Development from the University of East Anglia (UEA) in the United Kingdom.
My research relies on policy documents, water and climate datasets, and qualitative methods to understand how social groups make decisions and negotiate regarding water allocation and basin management. My most recent project is a collaboration with the Udall Center for Studies in Public Policy that examined the latest Mexico-US cooperative transboundary agreements on Colorado River management.
