Warren is a postdoctoral researcher working on site analysis, land use planning, and geospatial considerations for siting Cosmic Explorer-- a next-generation gravitational-wave observatory in the United States. He integrates geospatial data and geometric algorithms together to find promising areas to help site the observatory. The analysis he does with Chris Lukinbeal, Kate Daniel, Piper Sledge, and Joe Hoover aims to work in concert with other Cosmic Explorer Consortium efforts such as cost calculations and community outreach. Warren looks forward to continuing this work by conducting local-level analysis with big data and consider important factors like community outreach, environmental considerations, zoning, and land use.
