Perspectives on Earth: Paths to Sustainability and Stewardship

When
Earthweek, running from Monday, March 18 to Friday, March 22nd this year, is an annual student-led, week-long event put on by the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences (SEES). The week will celebrate the research being done in the seven departments within SEES (School of Natural Resources, Arizona Institutes of Resilience, Environmental Science, Geosciences, Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences, Laboratory of Tree Ring Research, and School of Geography and Development) and host a variety of other events celebrating the Earth and our relationships with it.
This year's theme is Perspectives on Earth: Paths to Sustainability and Stewardship. Our goal for Earthweek 2024 is to showcase research on new and established perspectives on Earth including its people, resources, and the Earth itself. Understanding perspectives on Earth and its complexities can highlight actions towards sustainability and stewardship around the world. Since people are spread across coastal, high and lowland areas, and live amongst the deserts, arctic tundras, and everywhere in between, the challenges that communities face in changing climates are regionally unique. We’d like to hold a space for both the campus and wider community to share their stories and research of Earth from near and far.
