SGD PhD Student Bhuwan Thapa Awarded Graduate Research Training Grant

Congratulations to SGD PhD student Bhuwan Thapa who has been awarded a three-year Graduate Research Training Grant by the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD, based in Kathmandu, Nepal) under its Himalayan Adaptation, Water and Resilience (HI-AWARE) initiative.

Bhuwan’s proposal, entitled "Pathways to Resilience: Adaptation in agriculture and water management to changing climate in the Gandaki River Basin,” was selected among numerous applications across South Asia in a highly competitive process.

This grant for $134,803 will cover GRA support for coursework completion, field research (including travel and fieldwork costs), and dissertation writeup. Excellent work, Bhuwan!
