The Community and School Garden Program partners with the Tucson Community Food Bank to help Tucson teachers develop and sustain school gardens.  The University of Arizona Community and School Garden Program started in spring 2010 with six student interns in two schools. Ann Marie Hanson a PhD Candidate in Geography, has just accepted the position, "McGill Visiting Professor of International Studies," at Trinity College. She will be teaching Geography of Mexico and Global Political Ecology in Fall, and Gender and Natural Resources. During her tenure there, she will also be giving the McGill Visiting Professor of International Studies Public Lecture.... Read more

Jessica de la Ossa has been awarded a Cesar Chavez Pre-Doctoral Fellowship at Dartmouth College. Heston Smith, an alumni of the Masters of Science in Geographic Information Systems Technology in 2011, has accepted a job with the US Army Corp of Engineers, Army Geospatial Center.  He will be working in Geographer in the terrain analysis branch. This branck supports USACE projects and soldiers (warfighter support).
