Violetta Cabello Villarejo is a visiting-scholar of the Regional Economics And Spatial Modeling laboratory and currently a  PhD candidate in the Human Geography Deparment of the University of Seville, Spain.  Violetta is here for 4 months in the frame of the SWAN project between the UofA and various European universities. Randy Taylor, a graduate from the Master's of Science in Geographic Information Systems Technology program in 2012, has been promoted to GIS Manager for the City of Freeport, Grand Bahama in The Bahamas.

Dan Griffin has accepted an appointment as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.  He'll do this before taking on his tenure track position at the University of Minnesota.

The Community and School Garden Program partners with the Tucson Community Food Bank to help Tucson teachers develop and sustain school gardens.  The University of Arizona Community and School Garden Program started in spring 2010 with six student interns in two schools. Ann Marie Hanson a PhD Candidate in Geography, has just accepted the position, "McGill Visiting Professor of International Studies," at Trinity College. She will be teaching Geography of Mexico and Global Political Ecology in Fall, and Gender and Natural Resources.
