The MDP family is saddened to announce the death of first year MDP student Lia Gilbert. Lia was a ray of light in the program and she will be sorely missed. She was interested in working in food security and gender equality. She is survived by her two children, mother, father, brothers and many friends.  A scholarship is being developed in her name. Details will be provided soon.

Congratulation to Michelle Coe who successfully passed her Masters thesis today with a committee of Greg Barron-Gafford, Sallie Marston and Diana Liverman. Her thesis was an analysis of how elementary school children's environmental attitudes, behavior and connection to community change through participation in a school garden program.
