Congratulations to SGD graduate students Sonja Ziaja and Chris Fullerton who recently co-authored the article, "Judging Science: The Rewards and Perils of Courts as Boundary Organizations", recently published in West Northwest Journal of Environmental Law & Policy. The article examines the role of courts in mediating between competing interests in the interpretation and implementation of science-informed public policies. Great work, Sonya and Chris!

Congratulations to SGD PhD student, Lily House-Peters, who has won second place in the Central Arizona Project's Award for Research competition for her paper Developing an Updated Multi-temporal Landcover Classification to Assess Riparian Conservation and Inform Decision-Making in the Upper San Pedro Watershed: A Classification and Regression Tree (CART) Model Approach.

One of the first residents of the new ENR2 Building - SGD's new residence - was a mother hummingbird who set up a few at the end of a data cable. On July 24, she hatched two chicks. You can check out the hummingbird family at the live webcam on the Planning, Design, and Construction website: It's great to be sharing our new space with the local fauna.

The School of Geography & Development has officially moved to the new ENR2 building. We said farewell to the Harvill Building yesterday and have taken up residence on the south side of the 4th floor of the ENR2 Building.
