Mamadou Baro
Associate Professor, Bureau of Applied Research in Anthropology
Dr. Mamadou Baro is an Associate Professor at BARA at the University of Arizona, where he teaches development. He received his doctorate from the University of Arizona in 1994. A Pulaar-speaker from the Senegal River Valley, Dr. Baro has dedicated his professional life to African development, with particular emphasis on West African livelihood systems. He has extensive practitioner experience in all the Francophone countries of West Africa, as well as many others. His expertise is widely recognized in vulnerability assessments, monitoring and evaluation, project design and food security.
