Diana Liverman Received the Carl O. Sauer Distinguished Scholarship Award

Congratulations go out to Diana Liverman who was recognized with the Carl O. Sauer Distinguished Scholarship Award at the Conference of Latin Americanist Geographers (CLAG) recent conference in New Orleans.  It was awarded previously but Diana was only able to attend the recent meeting to accept the award. 

Below is a description of the award, one of CLAG’s most prestigious. The award nomination not only highlighted Diana’s scholarship but also her mentorship of many Latin Americanist scholars over the course of her career.  Well done, Diana!!

Carl O. Sauer Distinguished Scholarship Award. Given in recognition for a corpus of important published work or other significant contribution towards Latin American geography. Recipients will be scholars who are leading authorities in specific research topics and geographic areas of Latin America. Recipients could also be scholars whose research has made significant advancements towards fostering understanding of Latin America to a broader audience.
